License Agreements

There are one or more license agreements that apply to your runtime and/or design-time use of EncodingSleuth, and/or that apply to your customers' runtime use of your products containing EncodingSleuth. It may be necessary for you to include the appropriate license agreements in your application and/or documentation. The following table provides details.

License Agreement Applicable EncodingSleuth Variations Include in binary distributable? Include in documentation? Display on licensing screen?
EncodingSleuth (English) Text and Text+Binary Yes (note 1). Yes (note 2). Yes (note 3).
Unicode Data Files (English) Text and Text+Binary Yes (note 1). Yes (note 2). Optional (if you elect to do so, follow the guidelines in note 3).

All relevant license agreements may be found in HTML format in the /license agreements/ folder within the EncodingSleuth JAR file. This includes any translations to other languages that may exist.
Note 1
Since the EncodingSleuth JAR file contains this license agreement, inclusion of the unmodified EncodingSleuth JAR file in your application will automatically meet this requirement.
Note 2
This requirement may be met by one of
Note 3
If your application includes the ability to display your license agreement to the end user (during application installation, during the first run after installation, during registration, or in some other context), your license display mechanism must include this agreement as well. You may duplicate the agreement into this mechanism (preserving all content and structure, and basic formatting), or fetch the content of the agreement from the EncodingSleuth JAR file at runtime. When end-users accept your agreement they also accept this agreement.

Otherwise, you are not required to present this agreement to your customers. However, by using your software your customers accept this agreement, even if they haven't seen it.
